MY HEART LEAPS UP
My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.

Review:
Theme: Man and nature
Man observes the natural beauty of his surroundings and feels delighted only in the short span of his childhood. The poet reflects on the passing of time and the feelings of his early age. My favourite verse is “my heart leaps up when I behold”. Interesting fact about the poem is that William Wordsworth in his poetry, always look back how life was in childhood. He appreciates the greatness of childhood and prefers that time over present. If we refer this poem to our present scenario, we all are busy in materialistic world. We have no time to appreciate the worth of natural beauty.
